One of the greatest regrets I have harboured since i was 13 years old is not getting out of bed as my father asked. One specific day in 1980 my father came into my room and woke me up. He said, ‘Do you want to go see Terry Fox?’ His marathon of hope passed thru my hometown. Terry ran down highway 7, less than 100 yards from where I lived. I didn’t go. It is one of my biggest regrets and this weekend, I am once again reminded.

This coming Sunday thousands of Canadians will be running to raise money for cancer research. The 37th annual Terry Fox runs are spread throughout the country and throughout the South Fraser as well. Since it’s inception, over $750 million has been raised in Terry’s name.

Did you know, the Terry Fox Run has no corporate sponsorships? As per Terry’s wish, he didn’t want any sort of fame or fortune, all he wanted to do was raise public awareness and money for cancer research.
