Today’s Flashback song was originally by the Five Satins, but today’s version of “In the Still of the Nite” was by Boyz II Men. It was recorded a cappella for the soundtrack to the television miniseries The Jacksons: An american Dream.

If you notice the spelling of Night is incorrect you are right but it was intentional and was a popular doo-wop trend back then. Debbie Gibson also recorded a version of the song back in 1989. The Five Satins version was heard in several films, such as The Buddy Holly Story and Dirty Dancing which made it popular for a new generation.

Boys II Men’s “In the Still of the Nite” made it to #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart and #7 on the Canada Adult Contemporary Charts.
