So here we go with the routine.  Soccer.  Gymnastics.  Dance. Homework.  And many of us full or part time working as well as managing a home, pets, cars, and all those “emergencies”.

When trying to sign up my kids, there are lots of times I get envious… what do you mean, you don’t want to take guitar lessons?!  I’d LOVE to take guitar lessons!

As we start the year and for those of us who gain a little more time when the kids are in school we tell ourselves… here’s the “me time”.  But we usually fill it with chores, work, and generally non-enriching tasks.  I always think, I’ll get everything done during the day so I can head out to the drop-in yoga at 8PM.  Of course, by 8PM a million new things have popped up and leaving the house is the last thing I want to do.

My husband has the sports he plays and he doesn’t need to “check” with me to see if there is a conflict with his game – he just goes, and if there is a conflict we make arrangements to deal with it.

Last year I signed up for a hip hop class and it was super fun… the two classes I made it to.  Something always came up and it was always my thing that I chose to sacrifice.  Sometimes it’s just easier to not go, than to build a huge logistical equation just do spend an hour poppin’ and lockin’. And sometimes I was just too tired to figure out yet another challenge.

This year is a little different as my eldest can now babysit and it allows a little more wiggle room.  So now that the logistics are figured out – what about the complete fear of walking into a room in my 40’s and pretending that I’ll be able to shake shake shake my money maker with the freedom I enjoy at home with my 7 year old?  That, I’ll still have to face.  Stay tuned!
