Surrey Tree Lighting Festival

November 24 |12–7pm | Surrey City Hall Plaza
Join the mayor and council as they flip the switch at 6:30pm to light the city’s spectacular 58-foot Christmas tree. From noon to 7 pm, enjoy the musical performers, festive crafts and activities, stories and rides to kick off the holiday season! Don’t forget to snap a picture with Santa and Paw Patrol!

Christmas in Williams Park returns for its 28th annual scenic drive with an extended run. Every night for three weeks, from Friday, November 30 to Saturday, December 22, guests can drive through the magical setting at 238 Street and 68 Avenue from 5:30 to 9:00pm to view the park’s spectacular show of lights from the comfort of their vehicles. The event is free, but donations are gratefully accepted to help cover the cost of maintaining the displays.

CITY SPARKLES LIGHT TOUR & SHOP LOCAL is a free and fun family event. The 1st Annual Langley City Sparkles will run December 1 – 31, with the one-way merchants windows being lit up for the holiday season. 

There will be late night shopping evenings on Thursdays, December 6th, 13th, and 20th until 8:00 pm. You can build a swag bag and enter to win up to a $1000.00 shopping spree! Then stop at the City of Langley tent for complimentary refreshments and to pick up a Downtown Langley Shopping bag. A map of participating late night merchants will be supplied with a passport to be stamped by all participating merchants. Your completed passport will qualify you for a chance to win $200 DOWNTOWN DOLLARS each late night shopping evening.

PLUS when you make a purchase at a merchant you can ALSO enter to win a chance at 3$1000 shopping sprees that will be given away with the Downtown Langley Shop your Heart out contest.  Holiday Entertainment will be available at different locations along the one way.

Gingerbread Village 2018 @ City Central Shopping Centre

The Downtown Surrey BIA Is hosting their 2nd annual Gingerbread Village. Gingerbread Village is a charity event that adds creative fun to the holidays and raises money for the Surrey Christmas Bureau. Shoppers, locals and gingerbread enthusiasts will have a chance to admire various Surrey-inspired gingerbread creations and can even vote for their favourites.

The creations will be on display at Central City Shopping Centre from December 8-16 near the Winners and can be viewed during mall hours. Entries will have a chance to win cash prizes, including a $500 People’s Choice Award that will be announced via social media.

Make a cash donation anytime during Gingerbread Village to vote for your favourite, and the creation that raises the most money will win! The more you donate, the better chance your favourite will take home the coveted title. All donations raised will go toward the Surrey Christmas Bureau to help them support low-income families during the holidays.

Join in a magical evening of carols, musical performances and a Dickens reading inside Fort Langley’s historic walls. A costumed guide will whisk your group from building to building to get the full experience. Get a free photo of your party at our professional photo booth. Sign a card with a fountain pen, sample heritage hot chocolate, and admire the big Christmas tree. Rain, snow or shine!

We will be collecting food for the Langley Food Bank at the event. Please feel free to contribute non-perishable food donations at our Visitor Centre.
