Surrey RCMP is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision in the South Surrey area.

On September 5th 2019, at approximately 6:50 am, Surrey RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of 40th Avenue and 176th Street. One driver has unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. The other driver has been transported to hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

A road closure has been put in effect for 176th Street between the intersection of Highway 10 and 32nd Avenue, and on 40th Avenue between 168th Street and 176th Street as of Thursday morning. The public are requested to avoid the area until further notice.

The investigation into the collision is in its early stages, but impairment from alcohol or drugs is not believed to be a factor.
