Canada Pot Talks host Steven Feldman says B.C hasn’t exactly been a leader in rolling out legalized marijuana.

As of Wednesday’s legalization day the province’s only legal pot shop remains in Kamloops.

173 business applications have been submitted to the province and are still awaiting approval.

“B.C is kind of ground zero on cannabis in the country, everyone knows that,” said Feldman, speaking to Ian Power on Pulse Mornings. “If you’re going to come out swinging and take on the black market in B.C you should’ve come out with your best gloves on. There are stores open in Quebec, Winnipeg, Alberta, to say you never had time to get stores open, other people somehow did it.”

While consumers can order marijuana from the province’s online site, Feldman says some won’t feel safe doing so.

“Having to give out your personal  information including your credit card number and address is not going to sit well with  some people. Plus there’s the added $10 delivery fee which means the prices will probably be higher than the black market.”
