The 170 page 2018 World Happiness Report was released this past Wednesday. The United Nations Sustainable Development Network put the report out every year and ranks 156 countries throughout the world based on a number of things including GDP per capita, social support, life expectancy, social freedom, generosity and absence of corruption. According to the report, Finland is the happiest country on the planet. According to the report Finland also was number one when they added a new category this year – the happiness of foreign born immigrants. According to a professor at UBC, that is a, ‘most striking finding’.
