Do the kids in your home get paid to do their chores (as an incentive or a reward)?

Or, is it just a “Fact of Life” in your household that to do chores is great training for the future?

A new survey we came across here South of the Fraser reveals that 1 in 5 parents even impose fines on their children for failing to complete their household chores. (Does being grounded count as payment?)  Ouch!

As for the parents who do in fact pay their kids who help around the house…

– the average boy gets $9.33 for doing household chores.
– the average girl gets $6.20 for doing household chores.
