A man has been arrested and charged with second degree murder in connection with the homicide of Tee Bor.

On February 17, 2019, the Surrey RCMP were called to a report of an assault at a residence in the 13300-block of 105 Avenue.  Frontline officers arrived on scene to find 68-year-old Tee Bor with serious injuries.  Mr. Bor was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His death was deemed a homicide and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the case.

Investigators quickly determined that this was an isolated incident and there was no risk to public safety.  An extensive neighbourhood canvass was undertaken, numerous interviews conducted and considerable forensic evidence analyzed.

After less than five months since the initial deployment, the tireless work of IHIT and its partners has resulted in charge approval from the B.C. Prosecution Service.

On July 12, 2019, 26-year-old Pee Lee PI of Surrey was arrested and charged with second degree murder for the death of Mr. Bor.

Mr. PI will appear before a judge in B.C. Provincial Court on July 15, 2019.

“IHIT would like to thank its many partners whose contributions helped advance this investigation to today’s outcome,” says Corporal Frank Jang of IHIT.  “Our deepest condolences and sympathies go out to the family of Mr. Tee Bor and anyone else that was affected by his loss.”

Anyone with information, who have yet to come forward to police, is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
