“Engaging with the community matters. It is the basic principle in how we police the city every day.” The feeling of community was evident as Officer In Charge, Assistant Commissioner Dwayne McDonald addressed the large crowd at today’s Surrey RCMP Open House. The event was completely packed with people of all ages checking out the police vehicles, dunk tank, and children’s activities like “police briefings” and fingerprinting.
The highlight for my family was the impressive Air Force One, which we could see hovering over our home not too far from the detachment. As well, many members took the time to talk to my family including the Officer In Charge himself!
