On November 18th, the Surrey RCMP attended to a report a residential break and enter in the South Surrey area where the registered owners BMW sedan had been stolen from the garage.

 On November 21st, a Surrey RCMP General Duty patrol officer was conducting pro-active patrols and located the stolen BMW in the area of Central City.  Members of the Surrey RCMP Auto Crime and Property Crime Target Teams quickly attended and observed a male exiting the driver’s seat of the vehicle.  Police attempted to arrest the male who resisted and fled the area.  A short foot pursuit occurred and the male was quickly taken into custody.

 Daylen PIKE, 20 years-old, of Surrey has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Obstruct Peace Officer and Driving While Prohibited.

“This arrest could not have taken place without the great policing work conducted by our frontline uniformed officer locating the stolen vehicle and our target team members affecting the arrest,” says Staff Sergeant Mike Hall, Acting Pro-Active Enforcement Officer “Property crime continues to be a priority of the Surrey RCMP and recent statistics indicate it is on the downward trend.”
