Tick tock on new community projects…

At the Finance Committee meeting yesterday, the committee voted to bring the proposed budget to a final vote at Council.  The proposed budget includes postponements of several previously planned projects including the Cloverdale Sport & Ice Complex, Grandview Heights Community Centre & Library, and improvements and expansions to several other recreational and cultural facilities.

The plan will now go to City Council for final approval on Monday.  The Finance Committee (comprising Mayor & Council) heard from concerned residents for two hours on Tuesday evening at their meeting.  The vote was NOT unanimous and four councillors opposed the proposed budget: Cllrs Annis, Pettigrew, Locke and Hundial.

There is still an opportunity to review and send your comments to City Council!
