Judging by the cassette tape  above, you can probably guess that today’s Flashback Song ‘Aint No Mountain High Enough’ by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell came out in the 1960s. 1966 to be exact!

The tune was a big hit, especially in the R&B / soul community.

Sadly, the duo’s success was short lived when three years later Tammi Terrell passed away from a brain tumour at the young age of 24.

That same year Dianna Ross put her own spin on the song, climbing the R&B pop chart and even getting a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Female Pop Vocal Performance’

Ironically though, the original by Gaye and Terrell that never really topped the charts and only made the top twenty on Billboard, is way more popular and recognizable than Ross’s version,

It was even g inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and considered one of the most significant singles ever released under the Motown label!
