On Thursday Pulse Mornings welcomed Valaria van den Broek and Peter Fassbender for day eight of our Mayoral Candidate Conversations on Pulse 107.7 FM.

Topics in the discussion, moderated by Pulse Morning’s Ian Power, ranged from what it will take to engage the electorate given voter turnout was 22 per cent in 2014,  what steps they would take to relieve the pressure of homelessness and people seeking affordable housing in the City of Langley as well what their vision looks like for improving transportation in the region.

Van den Broek and Fassbender were also asked what the most pressuring issue is facing the City of Langley heading into the election and how they play on taking a leadership rule on the issue, whether they ever see the City of Langley and Township of Langley amalgamating once again, whether the area is prepared for legalized recreational marijuana that comes into effect October 17th and finally what was their ultimate favourite concert.

For Fassbender it was seeing Elvis at the former Empire Stadium in Vancouver.

Van de Broek said it was too hard to choose (has seen Celine Dion, Pitbull, Paul McCartney and Elton John in concert to name a few)

Also, tune into Friday’s Pulse Mornings final candidate conversation at 7:30 a.m. where we welcome New Westminster candidates to the studio.
