On Friday Pulse Mornings welcomed Jimmie Bell, Jonathan Cote, and Harm Woldring for our ninth and final Mayoral Candidate Conversations on Pulse 107.7 FM. Nikki Binns was unable to attend.

Topics in the discussion, moderated by Pulse Morning’s Ian Power, ranged from what it will take to engage the electorate given voter turnout was less than 33 per per cent in 2014,  what steps they would take to relieve the pressure of homelessness and people seeking affordable housing in New Westminster as well their thoughts on the way the city should handle the retailing, distribution and consumption of legalized recreational marijuana,

Candidates were also asked what they can offer to alleviate traffic congestion in the region, what their vision is for the historical city in the next four years and finally what feature or attraction is a ‘must see’ for people South of the Fraser.

Bell chose City Hall which used to be the Duke of Connaught High School that he attended.

Cote was quick to mention the Riverfront Market that features a promenade and some of the city’s best restaurants and shops

Woldring agreed the Riverfront Market is a top destination.
