Ripped Canadian Flag flies over Surrey

By | News, Tara Lopez

Over the Remembrance Day Long Weekend, many visitors and residents of Surrey’s Guildford area were shocked to see the beloved giant Canadian flag that flies over 152 Street and 104 Avenue ripped literally to pieces due to the wind storm.

The flag pole we’re talking about is originally from Expo 86, and it stands 86 meters tall  in the lot of a local car dealership.  Reps at the dealership say it costs them over $40,000 a year to maintain the flag + flagpole.

Officials add that they need to wait till the wind dies down before they can replace the beloved Canadian Flag.

In the meantime, here are photos of the tattered Canadian flag that was left flying over Surrey’s skies:

Pulse FM at Whats On! Magazine (South Surrey White Rock) Launch Party

By | Community, Tara Lopez

This week, The Pulse FM Street Team (powered by Freeway Mazda) attended the launch party for the new upcoming mainstay magazine South of the Fraser. The What’s On! magazine was launched yesterday at ShowShaa tap room in South Surrey.

As we walked around and spoke with the 80 plus people who arrived, they were all very excited about the launch.
The mood was quite upbeat, and everyone was treated to excellent appetizers throughout the evening.

Ruby Dhaliwal, the manager behind the magazine spoke to us
with an incredible amount of enthusiasm as What’s On!
is ready to inform residents of South Surrey
and White Rock about potential events and special
shows the local residents would be wise to check out.

Look for the magazine around local businesses in South Surrey
and White Rock. For more information,
you can check out their site at
