Can you say surprise surprise?

Jan’s On The Beach is known to have the BEST BRUNCH on the White Rock Strip. And, for years the lineups for getting in on that brunch can be long but worth it.

However, that is just the tip of the iceberg!

Jas Gill and I discovered that Jan’s offers an incredibly delicious and very filling dinner menu, and not only for seafood lovers.

Jan, the owner of Jan’s on the Beach and her Sous Chef Mark invited Jas and I down to try a sample of both meals they are offering as part of Taste White Rock that is on now until November 17th.

These pictures are just a small glimpse of the senses that came to life when enjoying each bite to the finish.

Jan’s Taste White Rock menu provides two options starting with the daily soup or salad, which by the way are put together with locally sourced vegetables. In this case, from up the street, literally.

Both Jas and I got the opportunity to try both the soup and salad.

First, the crunchy, colorful and refreshing salad complete with a home made Apple Cider Vinaigrette dressing.  This salad was just the right blend of greens, onion and the sweetness with apple pieces and dried cranberry. Yum!

Secondly, the spilt pea soup with double smoked bacon with a nice blend of flavour and richness. Oh, it is very smooth and tasteful.

Next on to the main dish. Well hands down, I mean I could not put it down a really tasty Burger. It’s a Sirloin Burger that may remind you of a steak with a in house made from scratch, Pretezel Bun. It was literally, finger licking good! Comes with a side of locally grown and produced Fries.

And, Jas enjoyed the newest creation that is not even on the menu yet. The ultimate veggie burger,  Mark’s creation from scratch. And, I thought I was the only one that couldn’t put my burger down. I honestly think, Jas swallowed her’s whole. Just kidding, Jas say’s, ” That was one of the best veggie burgers ever. Nice blend of spices and lightness of the patty.” Well, she gave that veggie burger two thumbs up.

The $35 option,  main course includes good portion of Applewood House Smoked Ribs with just a touch of spice to get your tastebuds dancing! Served with local sourced seasonal vegetables and a huge baked potato.  You’re not leaving hungry that is for sure.

And, then we got totally spoiled with  two deserts that were simply out of this world!

First, the chocolate pate made in house was rich and smooth dark chocolate with whip cream. A taste you had to let melt in your mouth. Call out to all my Chocolate lovers, this is a MUST TRY!

Second, the sticky toffee bread pudding that was nice and spongy, but soft and oh soooooo good! Jas polished this plate.

Jan’s is a very welcoming place with wonderful staff who are always smiling. Mark and Jan put their souls into the food that they prepare and are always accommodating and happy to make the food any way you want and make any changes to your meet  your dietary restrictions, albeit Gluten, vegan and much more.

If you have not eaten there or want to try something new on their menu, well now is the Time to try Jan’s on the Beach!
