Early Friday morning at approximately 1:17 am Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision in the 6300 block of 128 Street in Newton.

The collision involved a single vehicle, a white BMW SUV which left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Initial indications are that there are serious life altering injuries involved in this collision.

Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) is investigating with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analyst and Reconstruction Services (ICARS).

As 128 Street will be closed in both directions between 62 Avenue and 64 Avenue for some time as officers continue to investigate, it is requested that the public avoid the area.

The investigation into the collision is in its early stages. Investigators are seeking witnesses who observed the collision, or who observed the vehicle prior to the collision, to contact the Surrey RCMP. Investigators are also seeking any available dash-cam video.
