These two good friends met at the 2018 Surrey Board of Trade Mayor’s Arts Award, and Sami was instantly mesmerized by Ranj’s unique guitar style as well as his velvet voice. Sami’s company FUSIONpresents started booking Ranj at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel MIXT Lounge, where they manage the live entertainment.  This showcase will be the first time these two amazing artists perform together!

About Ranj Singh

In the mid 1980’s, Surrey-based singer/songwriter Ranj Singh started his career performing with folk-Punjabi and Hindi artists including Harbhajan Mann. In the ‘90s, Ranj and his brothers, with the help of award-winning artist Dal Hothi, formed the bhangra rock group Dal-Dil-Vog (DDV). The group went on to win numerous awards and performed with artists such as Jan Arden, 54-40, Colin James, and Matthew Good. DDV’s unique style of music led to tours throughout North America and India, a live performance, and music videos on Much Music, and MTV Asia. More recently, Ranj has been working as a solo artist, performing over 200 shows a year. Ranj makes music with a distinct Indian-Western flair that draws on his love for rock music and heartfelt lyrics. He refers to his unique blend of music as “Indo-Canadian Folk”. Learn more.

After getting his MBA from McGill and working in the corporate world for a few years, Sami strove to understand the music business from the ground up and started playing live in 2003. Now 18 years later, having played thousands of live shows, and helped hundreds of aspiring artists build their artistry, Sami has fortified his role as an entertainer and educator. He also hosts the Sunday Night Jam at West Beach in White Rock and continues to collaborate with artists all around the world on original music projects.
