Once again another pedestrian has lost their life after being run down on a dark street. Happened Saturday night when a man in his 40’s was struck by a chartered bus. The driver remained on scene and co-operated with police. Of course he or she did, because they couldn’t see the pedestrian and he more-than-probably didn’t cross at an intersection.

I saw a couple cases of this this past weekend. People wearing nothing but dark clothing running across and busy street ( in this case 152nd in South Surrey ) just to get their DQ hit.

I was lucky, I saw them last minute and was far enough away that I could react.

But what If one day you’re not far enough away?

I can’t fathom the amount of guilt and anxiety one must feel knowing that they have run someone over and possibly have taken their life.

The roads are dark early this time of year and yet there are those who throw caution to the wind and try and cross the street at a place you shouldn’t even in the day-time, all the while wearing dark clothing.

It makes no sense.
