Over the Remembrance Day Long Weekend, many visitors and residents of Surrey’s Guildford area were shocked to see the beloved giant Canadian flag that flies over 152 Street and 104 Avenue ripped literally to pieces due to the wind storm.

The flag pole we’re talking about is originally from Expo 86, and it stands 86 meters tall  in the lot of a local car dealership.  Reps at the dealership say it costs them over $40,000 a year to maintain the flag + flagpole.

Officials add that they need to wait till the wind dies down before they can replace the beloved Canadian Flag.
