I walked to my car this morning to come to work as I always do. This morning as I glanced at my vehicle I noticed something wasn’t quite right. My driver side rear-view mirror was pushed in. I never do that. Upon closer inspection I realized someone had used my mirror as if they were practicing a field goal in football. The mirror has been badly damaged for no good reason at all. My first feeling was anger.

What kind of person damages someone else’s property for no good reason?

Now, before you go assuming, know that I did run through of all my recent horrible dating experiences and don’t think I have any enemies, especially one (or ones) that would want to damage my property.

My neighbour came out and saw the damage and made a great point when he saw that I was angry. He said, ‘You know, the person who did that, they must be very very sad.’ And he’s right.

Why be mad at someone who clearly isn’t enjoying their life? So much so that they need to take it out on a complete strangers property.

When my neighbour said that to me my mood changed from being furious, to being empathetic. How sad is one’s life if they need to do that, and doesn’t know how to tell themselves that doing damage to someone’s property isn’t a nice thing to do at all?

I hope they find their peace before Karma finds them. I have a feeling it’s probably not the first time Karma has come looking.
