An Outdoor Burning Ban has been issued in Surrey. This includes any and all types of open-burning or backyard fires.

However, officials say natural gas, propane, and charcoal briquettes are permitted, as long as they are being used in ULC/CSA-approved devices.

And although Charcoal briquettes are allowed on private property, they are prohibited in City of Surrey parks and on city beaches.

So far in 2019, Surrey’s Fire Department has attended to 123 brush / grass fires and 184 burning complaints.
