A local program here in Surrey that is 100% community led and funded is
currently seeking volunteers. They are the Surrey Starfish Pack program.
Every week, volunteers gather and help pack backpacks
containing 2 ready-to-eat lunches, dinners, and snacks for
kids in our community to take home to their parents on Friday,
to help feed the family for the weekend.
The program typically spends around $12 – $15 per backpack.
If you would like to volunteer your time to help put together “Starfish Pack”
backpacks in a weekly basis,
you can get in touch with The Rotary Club of Surrey Foundation or their Volunteer Coordinator Rose at 604 617 5274.
They are also currently in need of a packing facility.
