UPDATE: There has been an update on the body that was found in the 18700 block of 24th Avenue.

Bhavkiran Dhesi’s body was found inside a burnt-out vehicle in Surrey on Wednesday morning, after first responders were called to the 18700-block 24th Avenue for a car fire.

The official RCMP release is below:

On August 2nd at 12:20 am, Surrey RCMP was called to the 18700 block of 24th Avenue for a report of a vehicle on fire.  Upon police attendance, a body was located inside the burned out SUV.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time.  The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
