My Flashback song today was a cover of an original song that came out in 1949. This version was Lou Bega’s “Mambo No.5” and it was a hit in the United Kingdom and Australia.
It also topped almost every chart in continental Europe and it reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US but we loved it here even more because it made to #1 on the Canadian Adult Contemporary Charts, the Canada Dance Chart and the Canada Top Singles Chart.
