The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its investigation into the death of a Surrey woman. On January 23, 2019, the family of 38-year-old Rajwinder Bains reported her missing to the Surrey RCMP and a missing person’s investigation was initiated.

Investigators conducted extensive ground searches, spoke to multiple people, and conducted area canvassing for video surveillance. During the course of the investigation, Ms. Bains’ body was discovered and her death is now being investigated as a homicide.  IHIT has conduct of the investigation.

IHIT is working closely with its partners from the Surrey RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence. Ms. Bains was last seen leaving a TD Canada Trust bank in the 5600-block of 152 Street in Surrey at approximately 9:30 a.m. on January 7, 2019 (photograph attached).
