On May 31st at around 6:30 pm the Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian motor vehicle collision at 72 Ave and 138 St in Newton. A pick up truck was travelling eastbound on 72nd Ave when it collided with a pedestrian.
The 57 year old female pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition with life threatening injuries. The driver remained at scene and is cooperating with police. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be contributing factors in this collision. The incident is still under investigation.
