There’s a heavy police presence at Scott Road Skytrain station this evening (Jan 30 2019) as RCMP officers search for a suspect who shot a transit police officer at around 4:20pm on the platform.

The officer received serious but non life threatening injuries and has been transported to the hospital.

Police blocked off traffic for commuters at King George Blvd and Bridgeview Drive, and the Skytrain Service was also suspended today at Scott Road.

Surrey RCMP, Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team, and the Integrated Police Dog Services are working to locate and apprehend the suspect.

RCMP believe the suspect may be armed, and they are asking the public to avoid the area around the 12500 block of 113A Street.
