On Halloween night we usually go to mom’s house because she has alot of kids in her area and I love to decorate her place. Well 5 pm rolled around and no kids were seen strolling the neighbourhood, but mind you it seemed like it stayed light out later last night. However 6pm came and still there were no kids shouting “trick or treat.” We started to get concerned, I mean we had 720 candies to hand out! Then at around 6:30pm we had the first two kids and then a few more and it because a slow trickle on and off for most of the night.

It started to feel like this year was going to be a lot quieter, not in noise though that is for sure! Fire crackers were being let off every 4 minutes around the area. We started giving huge handfuls to every trick-or-treater since we had a ton of candy and not much of it was moving! No way was I bringing those delicious candies back to my place.

By the time the evening wrapped up we had just under a 100 kids, we usually get over 150! I guess maybe the weather kept some away or sadly more kids are moving away. I will be interested to find out the trend next year and see if the numbers continue to decline. I’m hoping this was just one of those years, you know the type.
