Have you heard about CoolSculpting? I know I have over the years and like most of us I really didn’t know what it was all about and never looked into it. So when I was given the opportunity to try it out, of course I jumped on the chance to see what all the hype was about. What is CoolSculpting? It targets and cools unwanted fat cells in an area to induce a noticeable reduction in fat. It is different than liposuction because it doesn’t involve anesthetic, surgery or downtime.
The other day I headed down to the Delta Laser and Skin Care Centre with all these ideas in my mind and lots of questions. I arrived at the centre and was taken in to meet with Christy the technician who would be administering my treatment. First off Christy was amazing, she was so friendly and she answered every question I had, even ones I didn’t even think about!
She then asked me to change into lovely blue shorts, they get you to wear the shorts so they can look at your body and assess your fat and where CoolSculpting would be most beneficial. I wasn’t quite sure driving in where I wanted to get the treatment done on my body, I do have fat let me tell you but I wasn’t sure which area was in the most need.
Then Christy started to look at all my fatty areas and I wanted to die inside because it is embarrassing to have someone stare at you and grab your fat, but I must say I started to feel at ease within minutes because Christy was so sweet and comforting.
We decided to target my stomach area because who doesn’t want the perfect stomach right? After having being drawn on I then proceeded into the treatment room and sat on this cool comfy relaxing chair. Christy then turned on the machine which had these suction looking ends and put she then put the first one on my target area. The machine sucks your skin in and starts to feel cool, I was a little scared of what it would feel like but it didn’t hurt at all.
She bundled me up with blankets to make me feel comfy and get this, she also had a Chai Latte and a protein package of goodies all from Starbucks waiting for me on a table! That was very sweet of her, they try real hard at Delta Laser Centre to make you feel comfortable and they do a great job at it.
I sat there and watched TV, drank my Latte as my fat was being frozen, it wasn’t a bad experience at all. Christy came in to check on me from time to time and she also gave me a button to press if I needed her at any time of my treatment. Once the timer beeped Christy came back to the room and took off the applicator and then she had this cool machine that would lightly zap your skin, it is supposed to help with the process and make the results even better.
The first time she did this I felt a little pain and felt a little warm but she reassured me it was just my body reacting to what just happened and that it would go away quickly. It did and the next few times she did this zapping it didn’t bother me at all because I knew what to expect and so did my body so it reacted differently.
When we were done she explained to me that I will be a little swollen and that the red marks on my skin would go away. She was so open and made me feel so good through the whole process that I would recommend Christy and the wonderful team at Delta Laser Centre to everyone who wants great care and great results.
Christy told me that that I may see some results as early as three weeks but the final results will be around 2 to three months, everyone’s body is different. I will be going back in a couple months for my next treatment and I am so excited to see my final results.
I was very surprised with how easy the process was, there is no downtime!
